Ways and how to clean your gemstones and making them always precious

What to avoid

* Do not spray perfume on your gemstones - The chemicals from perfumes are harsh and they tend to destroy the compositon of porous gemstones like pearls and amber

*Keep gemstones in soft pouches or simply wrap in paper towel to avoid scratches

*Keep away from hairspray or any other spray

*Remove when you are exercising. Sweat is not kind to gemstones

What you can do to clean

*For porous gemstones like amber, all you have to do for cleaning is to wipe with a soft moist(not wet) cloth

*For harder gemstones like diamond, ruby and sapphire - use a little alcohol on a soft cloth and wipe clean

*For jewelry with hard to reach areas - deep an old tooth brush in water and brush hard to reach areas, then quickly dip in water to rinse off and dry with a soft cloth (Do not leave in water
